The Tribal Historic and Preservation Office (THPO) manages the Tribe's archeological, ethnographic and historic collections. THPO also oversees the management of cultural properties on the Makah Indian Reservation.

THPO staff performed a small-scale excavation at a known culturally active site.
Funding is provided by the National Park Service and the Makah Cultural and Research Center.
