Ridership
September 1999 was our first full month of service had a total count of 514 passengers. Just one year later the Makah Transit served 2,210 passengers. For the year 2000, The Makah Transit carried 19,611 passengers with an average of 1,634 per month. Counts for 2001, which was our peak year, were 32,115 passengers with a monthly average of 2,676. Counts for 2002 were 21,969 passengers with an average of 1,831 per month, and for the year 2003, 21,418 with an average of 1,785 per month.
Lost and Found
Items found on a bus, or at a bus stop will be taken to 150 Resort Dr office #23 upstairs. If you have lost or found an article on a bus or at a bus stop, please give to one of the bus drivers or stop by the Public Works Office #20 upstairs. Inquiries can be made by calling (360) 645-3116 or (360) 645-3111. Items can be claimed Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Any unclaimed items will be discarded after 30 days.
Pets
All pets must be caged with the exception of service animals.
No Transit Service On Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays
Makah Public Transit serves a small rural close knit community therefore, when there is a funeral, out of respect to the family, Bus service is suspended from 1:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Door-to-Door Services
Door-to-Door services are offered to persons 62 years of age and Disabled only between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Special pick-ups (Door-to-Door) must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee efficient service. Calls are taken on a first come first serve basis. Special pick-ups can be scheduled by calling (360 645-3111. This service is offered free of charge. Disabled persons must be on file with the Operations Support Specialist located at 150 Resort Dr. Office #21 upstairs
